Exotic Multi-purpose Desert Race Truck

Built for “OP2” class competition in the Dakar Rally. Meets same standards as on-course race support Hummers fielded by Robby Gordon. Can also race Dakar T-4, Group 3-1 because it meets weight, size and safety requirements. This truck is much faster than any vehicle currently raced in this class and is capable of easily beating the field.

Would make an excellent chase, support, “fast attack”, or press vehicle for the Dakar or any desert racing. Designed for long-distance, maximum reliability, ease-of-maintenance and repair, versatility and simplicity. Meets all California State regulations and is street-legal with current registration. Design:

Three-seat, SCORE-certified chromoly roll cage with integral engine cage and bed structure.
Race legal, bladder-type 60 gallon fuel cell.
Dramatically increased approach and departure angles for sand dune travel.

Body:

Fiberglass front quarter panels and bedsides.
Truck is painted “Viper Red”.

Suspension:

Fox 3.0” coil-over with Fox 2.5” bump stops in front.
Deaver springs and Fox 3.0, three tube bypass shocks in rear.
Custom 4130 sway bar.

Motor:

In-line, six cylinder Cummins Turbo Diesel motor with all possible modifications performed by Banks Engineering.
Motor was pulled and prepped at Banks.
Large turbo, intercooler, intake, exhaust, and air filter.
Full gauge package.

Drive train:

4x4 solid axle with locked rear differential (custom spool).
5 speed, wide-ratio manual transmission with Heavy Duty South Bend Clutch.
On the fly, manual shift transfer case with low range.

Steering:

Tom Lee hydraulic ram assist with large cooler and custom box and pump.

Two spare tires.
Steering box.
Steering pump. Fuel pump with filters. Alternator.
Upper and Lower radiator hoses.

Full-size, all-steel 8000 lb. race jack on steel skid.
